Mario in HTML5

I was messing around with JoliCloud on the other day and found this website. The author of this webpage converted Mario from somewhere else into HTML5, probably the original game is in flash.

Mario is a never dying casual game, man and woman from 3 to 93 years old also like it (or hate it) somehow, either on Nintendo, to flash on internet, to iPad/iPhone apps, at some point of their life.

The loading is quit fast. And game play was very smooth. To find if your web browser can support it, go to this link to try out:
http://arcade.rawrbitrary.com/mario/

I tried it on Chrome (rev 16), FireFox 8.0 and FireFox 9.0.1, all of them no problem with this HTML5. However IE8 unable to support it.

Word Cloud with HTML5

timdream from Taiwan wrote some HTML5 code to generate word cloud from website or blog or twitter or RSS feed or facebook or any file from local drive that you key in. Here is how:

1. Go to this link for English: http://timc.idv.tw/wordcloud/en/
     for Chinese (Traditional Chinese): http://timc.idv.tw/wordcloud/zh/

2. Click start and then put your blog/website RSS feed or blogger/twitter/facebook ID or select a file. And then click the big Start button on bottom right.

3. It take some time to read and the display a completion note. Click the box again to see your word cloud.

4. Modify the word cloud by changing the color, adjust the text size and regenerate it. It can also save out the result.

Here is two word cloud from this blog:

Note: I tried on Chrome only, FireFox and Safari might have problem. Don't ever try IE6/7/8. IE10 might works.

Windows Phone 7 mango update

Microsoft have start to giving WP7 update to WP7, this update is called mango. I wonder why they want to use fruit name. Android is using cookie names. Well, at least WP7 is more healthier. :P Anyway, here is a video from Engadget captured at the annual MIX developers' conference, after the jump.

It is a very long video (~21mins), but looks like this is very exciting to have the update and iPhone is pretty lame compare to WP7!

The demo of HTML5 inside this video triggered me to write blogpost regarding web browsers that supports/not-supports HTML5. I have done the testing and snapshot, just the matter of putting them into blogger, please stay tune. :)
